Another Spanish tapas and wine restaurant is coming to town. From restaurateur Sid Gupta (Pappardella, Village Pourhouse, Hudson Terrace, Little Town) and Marion Maur (who most recently ran her own restaurant Marion’s Country Kitchen for five years in Woodstock), Casa Pomona will be debuting on the Upper West Side sometime in early September.
The space will boast 114 seats, including a tapas bar, and it will be headed by chef Jodi Bernhard, who spent the past few years as executive chef of Barcelona Restaurant in Connecticut.
The menu reflects her French training and will highlight her paella, which will include clams, chorizo, chicken, and lobster.
Other inspired dishes will include Albondigas stuffed with oxtail, Morcilla, or grilled Spanish black sausage with preserved lemon and chickpeas. A bar program will also highlight sangria on tap, cocktails, and Spanish beers.
The restaurant is located on 507 Columbus Avenue between 84th and 85th streets.
