Chao Thai Too is the recent offshoot of Elmhurst fave Chao Thai, and only a few blocks from its sire. The menu of the new place is vastly expanded, challenging Sripraphai in its multiregional reach.

Naturally, though, Isaan food from Siam’s northeast is still front and center. The sour Thai sausage pictured above is a case in point: tasty tart links studded with giant shards of garlic. It comes with sliced raw ginger, purple onions, and Thai bird chiles, to be wrapped up in the lettuce leaves provided before eating.

Really, there’s no more perfect bar snack (or appetizer) in the world.
