Happy National Cheeseburger Day. As usual, we have for you a round-up on some restaurants celebrating the classic American sandwich:
LuLu & Me will offer its new Saturday Burger Special on National Cheeseburger Day, too: The LuLu Cheeseburger ($13.50) features an eight-ounce patty — made with 75 percent beef and 25 percent lamb — seasoned with rosemary, oregano, fennel, mint, and black pepper and blanketed in melted fresh cow’s-milk mozzarella. This cooked-to-order burger is served on a toasted, Amy’s sesame-seed bun with a side of fries.
Neely’s Barbecue Parlor on the Upper East Side will introduce the Blue Ribbon Burger and Beer Special ($10) in honor of National Cheeseburger Day. The burger features Pat LaFrieda-blended beef that has been hand-formed into an eight-ounce patty, basted with a beer glaze and topped with beer-braised onions, crumbled blue cheese, Applewood-smoked bacon, and brew-master mustard. It comes with an ice cold tallboy of PBR.
Across town on the Upper West Side at A.G. Kitchen, diners can enjoy a loaded bacon cheeseburger for just $9.18 in honor of National Cheeseburger Day. The A.G. Double is stacked with two beef patties, melted American cheese, barbecue onions, crispy bacon, lettuce, tomato, and onion on a potato bun.
MexiBBQ in Astoria will be offering their signature MexiBBQ burger and a beer for just $10 on National Cheeseburger Day. It’s south-of-the-border-style beef burger topped with melted cheddar, pico de gallo, chipotle aioli, caramelized onion, and avocado, sandwiched between a Frank’s brioche bun.
