There are few things on this planet comparable to a Lightning Bolt live show. Rather than jump around on stage, this Providence duo—just a bassist and a drummer—stand in the middle of the basement, all-ages concert room, or in this case, converted warehouse, and let the crowd form around them. From there, the band’s pummelling post-hardcore noise assaults throw the solar system of bodies into chaos, their sound so booming that if you stand too close it might make you vomit (really, I’ve seen it happen). Tomorrow they play All Tomorrow’s Parties, but the show to catch goes down tonight at 285 Kent, with Indian Jewelry opening.
