Budweiser will be launching three limited-edition beers in the United States next month named for the zip codes of the places where they were developed. The beers, named for zip codes in Los Angeles (91406), St. Louis (63118), and Williamsburg, Virginia, (23185), are the winners of a Budweiser contest, titled “Project 12.”
Project 12 started in the early spring when Budweiser’s 12 brew masters across America were asked to write a unique beer recipe worthy of the Budweiser name. After internal discussion and input from approximately 10,000 festival attendees at the Budweiser Made in America music festival in Philadelphia, six of the recipes were chosen to be brewed in small batches.
A breakdown of the beers:
Los Angeles: a deep-amber lager with 6 percent alcohol by volume (ABV)
St. Louis: a deep-golden pilsner with 6 percent ABV
Williamsburg, Virginia: a bourbon cask lager with 5.5 percent ABV
The limited-edition sampler pack will be available for sale starting on October 29.
