We might be thousands of miles away from Munich, but that won’t stop us from celebrating Oktoberfest. The 16-day Oktoberfest festival will be held from September 22 to October 7. Located at 1 Penn Plaza, OktoberfestNYC will feature almost 10,000 square feet of total festival space, including tented beer halls with long tables, folk music, and German food and beverages.
There will be waitresses dressed in traditional dirndl, a menu filled with classic German cuisine including various würstl (German sausages), brezeln (hot Bavarian pretzels), and traditional German potato dumplings.
A “Hoppel Poppel” brunch menu with German twists on classic brunch fare will be available Saturdays and Sundays as well an extensive German craft beer menu. Under Bavarian decrees dating back to 1539, only Märzen beers brewed within the borders of the city of Munich are permitted to be sold during Oktoberfest. OktoberfestNYC will be serving an official Märzenbier in respect to that ongoing tradition.
Packages range from $70 to $100 per person and include reserved beer garden tables, priority admission, and German beer and food selections. The event is open to the public for free with no cover charge.
