Well, it’s one of many reasons.
It’s that the family isn’t protected to begin with.
It’s estimated that somewhere around 40 or 50% of marriages end in divorce!
That situation has left million of kids with two separated parents, sometimes bitterly shifting the kid between them according to judgment calls.
And that’s the sancity of mariage that we’re supposed to protect, even though it doesn’t protect itself?
How would two same-sex parents (assuming they don’t divorce) be worse than one straight one?
The other bulls**t reason we hear about the need to protect the sanctity of marriage–as so crudely espoused by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad–is that gays can’t procreate.
Well, first of all, they can.
Lesbians are women.
Gay men have sperm.
Voila–that equals procreation.
Furthermore, they can adopt.
And if they decide not to have children at all, why would that be any different than a straight couple that doesn’t want (or can’t have) children?
Do they burn straights at the stake if they don’t procreate?
Is there some worldwide undercrowding situation going on that I haven’t heard about?
Ugh. I can’t believe I’m even bothering to answer these cretins.
