Today we have a recipe from Delicatessen, a diner on the edge of Lafayette and Prince. They’re sharing how to make their grilled cheese sandwich with applewood smoked bacon, beef steak tomatoes, and a chive puree.
Grilled Cheese Sandwich
Delicatessen, serves one
2 slices brioche (3/4 inch thick)
4 slices Irish aged cheddar cheese (thin)
3 slices applewood smoked bacon (thin)
3 slices yellow end of season beef steak tomatoes (thin)
1 teaspoon butter
1) Starting with a sauté pan on medium heat.
2) Add butter on slices of brioche and place into pan.
3) Then place two slices of cheese over each slice and place into oven at 350⁰ F for 2 – 3 minutes, until cheese melts.
4) Remove and then add the slices of bacon, and tomatoes that have been seasoned with a little salt and pepper.
5) Close sandwich.
