There’s a movie in development based on Sheila Weller‘s book Girls Like Us, about various female singer/songwriters who helped shape the modern sound.
Taylor Swift has been cast as Joni Mitchell, and the hissing of the summer lawns will have to drown out anyone’s reservations about that.
And here’s who they’re considering for the other two leads:
For the role of Carly Simon, they’re seeing Allison Williams from Girls, Jessica Pare from Mad Men, and Analeigh Tipton (Damsels in Distress).
And to play Carole King, they’re looking at Alison Pill, Olivia Thirlby, Ari Graynor, and Zoe Kazan.
Help me, I think I’m falling…in love with this movie.
