And it’s to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
This will be my last Barbra item for at least two days, but it’s important that you know tickets are still available for the benefit concert featuring various stars doing Barbra’s greatest hits on Friday October 12.
Lorna Luft is doing “The Man That…”, I mean “The Music That Makes Me Dance.”
Ashley Brown (Mary Poppins) will sing more than just a spoonful of “The Way We Were.”
Impressionist Steven Brinberg has staked his claim on “Evergreen.”
Broadway’s Nick Adams will croon “Lover, Come Back To Me.”
And Lorna and Ann Hampton Callaway will duet for the finale of the show, which by the way is hosted by Scott Nevins.
So get out of your ageless easy chair and get on the horn.
This show is the perfect sandwich meat between Barbra’s October 11 and 13 Barclays Center concerts in Brooklyn.
It’ll give you a chance to recoup and regroup without being the least bit disloyal to “the greatest star.”
