The Walkmen

by

Although the Walkmen never had quite the success of their fellow early aughts New York indie-rock neighbors, they also never really fell by the wayside. Their latest record, May’s Heaven, isn’t their highest charter (it hit No. 30), but it does contain some of their best crafted pop-leaning rockers. The latter quality is something openers that Dum Dum Girls seem to deal with almost exclusively, having honed their hook-laden garage rawk over a couple of LPs and more impactfully, a series of EPs. Sometimes presentation counts. With Daughter.
