This pizzeria (where, in the interest of full disclosure, I worked part-time as I interned around the city) has been a staple of Williamsburg since the ’60s, but expanded into Greenpoint a few years ago. They’ve been known to come up with crazy toppings and pop culture-inspired names, like the “Spuddy Holly” or “Eggy Sue,” showing them off with daily designed special boards. Here, I enjoyed the Black Bean Avocado, which is a pile of avocado, feta cheese, and tomato all squeezed into a black bean pizza base. The flavor is a bit burrito-ish, but crunchier because the thin crust is so thin and crisp.
