Since releasing their first proper album last September, the men of Das Racist have stayed busy. Besides touring, Kool A.D. released two mixtapes (start with the second, the Bay-centric 51), hype man Dapwell has brought his Chillin’ Island to East Village Radio while continuing work on his on Winky Taterz EP, and Heems has built his Greedhead Records into a label worth watching, using it to release his own outstanding Nehru Jackets tape, as well as new music from ultra-talented friends like Le1f, Lakutis, and SAFE, all of whom will be performing tonight when the group hits Irving Plaza. Remember when everyone still thought they were just joking?
