Phoenix folk punkers Andrew Jackson Jihad tap into the bleak comedy of human existence through satirical lyrics and unapologetic Americana. DIY proponents, the two play their instruments like weapons, using only an upright bass, an acoustic guitar, the occasional mandolin or horns, and the loud brashness of their voices. The result is a more raucous and reckless Mountain Goats-type band meant to see live and up close.
