These days, you can walk into a coffee shop, concert space, or converted warehouse in Greenpoint or Bushwick and, depending on how long you stay, hear seven bands that sound similar to Woods but none that sound quite as good. Their recent Bend Beyond, out last month on Woodsist, the same local label that releases both Real Estate and the Babies, might even be strong enough to get their ’60s-influenced home-recorded folk rock some play in the less-trendy Gramercy or West Village. Tonight, though, they remain in Brooklyn, playing with Widowspeak and Purling Hiss at the borough’s Music Hall of Williamsburg.
