Do you love nothing more than to spend an afternoon with an old novel? Does your heart speed up a little whenever you spy a used bookstore? Then the Brooklyn Holiday Book Fair was made for you. Spend the day breathing in the beautiful musty air at the Old Stone House, where all of your favorite used and antique booksellers—including Book Thug Nation, Freebird, and Honey & Wax Booksellers—will be selling rare, vintage, and out-of-print books as well as antiquarian maps, prints, and ephemera. For a little shopping inspiration, there will be a reading at 4:30 from the first edition of O. Henry’s “The Gift of the Magi,” about a poor young married couple who sell their most valuable things to buy each other secret Christmas presents.
