This past weekend, the Hester Street Holiday Market opened its doors on Mott Street for the second year in a row. Among the piles of vintage fur stoles, handmade haberdashery, and these incredibly cool garlic grater bowl-plates, there were a handful of vendors offering some of their small-batch snacks.
The market, a home for more than 50 NYC-based food and craft stalls and an offshoot of the Hester Street Fair, will be open this coming Saturday, December 8, and Sunday, December 9. Beginning on Saturday, December 15, the sellers will man their posts until 7 p.m., so last-minute gifters can browse the Mott Street pop-up.
Yesterday, Pockets Full of Dough was pushing this guy, along with a case full of dancing eels and live sea urchin.
Locally sourced and produced ice cream makers, Dreamscoops, lived up to their name. The appropriately seasonal pumpkin flavor had lingering ginger undertones and provided the necessary boost for additional shopping stamina.
