If you’re a purist of the potato pancake known as the latke, you might want to avert your eyes. For the rest of you, tonight—just in time for the Festival of Lights—nearly 20 chefs from some of the city’s best restaurants (including the Malaysian-barbecue joint Fatty ’Cue and the gourmet doughnut shop Dough) will be having their way with the Jewish comfort food at the fourth annual Latke Festival. Wine, beer, and—most importantly—vodka are included in the price of admission. At the end of the night, a panel of judges, including Eric Demby of the Brooklyn Flea and WNYC’s Leonard Lopate, will announce a latke king or queen. L’chaim!
