Say Goodbye to Dessert Truck Works, Stage Deli, Lenox Lounge

Dessert Truck Works closed its storefront on Clinton Street on Monday. A goodbye message on their website said that they will continue to fulfill holiday orders, but all operations will stop after Dec. 31. Last year, Bowery Boogie hinted that this might happen after the dessert shop closed for a short time after garnering a few too many health code violations.

Lenox Lounge, a Harlem jazz club that once called Billie Holliday a regular, will close on New Year’s Eve, and Richie Notar of Nobu Restaurants Group will take over the legendary space. Eater reports that Notar already applied for a liquor license under the name “Notar Jazz Club.”

The Bowery House has transformed Bowery Kitchen into Pearl and Ash, according to new signage. The owners stayed the same, but have hired Richard Kuo and Steve Pereyda as chef and sous chef, respectively.

Stage Deli closed last week after owner Paul Zolenge told the New York Times the deli had fallen on hard financial times. The sandwiches named after celebrities may be no more, but the legendary rivalry between Stage and neighboring Carnegie Deli won’t soon be forgotten.
