Not your typical dance performance, Yvonne Meier’s The Shining plunges you and a group of about 10 others into complete darkness in a maze of 350 cardboard refrigerator boxes. There, you’ll be instructed to give up control to the dancers who pull and push you along (with some help from flashlights) as they perform around you, knocking down boxes and perhaps giving you a fright (yes, there is a waiver to sign). First performed at P.S. 122 in 1993, The Shining was revived last year and won its second Bessie Award. Now it’s back due to popular demand. Are you brave enough?
Mondays-Sundays, 8 p.m. Starts: Dec. 13. Continues through Dec. 22, 2012
