There are only a few things—apocalyptic zombie epidemics, Cloverfieldian monsters—that can clear out this town faster than the holidays. But maybe there’s an upside to the bevy of “closed” signs and near-empty streets. Lots of room to rev up the old DeLorean, for one, or kick out some tricks on your skateboard/hover-skateboard. Take a lesson from Michael J. Fox as the ever-adorable, quintessentially ’80s kid Marty McFly, who goes back in time to help his ’rents, then forward in time to help his future children, all the while keeping those Nike high-tops pristine. Today, you can catch Back to the Future and Back to the Future Part II with some good company and great food at the annual Chinese and a Movie screening. The matinee buffet is all-you-can-eat, and there’s nothing like the present.
