New York

For more than three decades, Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo have been giving the graceful world of ballet a comedic kick in the butt. The American all-male ballet troupe that parodies the conventions and clichés of romantic and classical ballet will revamp excerpts of beloved dance numbers, combining pratfalls and campy stage antics with jaw-dropping skill and strength. Some of the highlights from two different programs include the New York premiere of Laurencia, a 1939 piece about a peasant revolution, and crowd-pleasers, such as Go for Barocco and Swan Lake. This is one ballet you’ll want to stay awake for.
