Joe’s Pizza, makers of one of the most famous pizza slices in the city, is opening up a second location near Union Square in the former Naked Pizza at 150 E 14th Street.
Joe’s opened in 1975 on the corner of Bleecker and Carmine Streets and while other classic NYC pizza joints like Ray’s and Grimaldi’s branched out, Joe’s stayed in the West Village until now.
An employee said that they weren’t sure exactly when the new outpost would open up — “Soon, end of this month or next month” — but guests can expect the same limited menu. No frills slices with mozzarella cheese or thick sicilian squares. Oh, and of course the imported Coke and Sprite made with real sugar cane (none of that American crap).
