Giardino D’Oro was deep in the heart of Zone A during Hurricane Sandy at 5 Gold Street. Even with 30 inches — table height — of flooding, they were able to redo the entire place after the devastating hurricane, and they reopened for business on December 3rd. But it took some help from SpacesTV.
The YouTube channel and interior designers form Clark Gaynor Interiors helped these guys redesign the entire venue in record time. The video shows the destruction and how they were able to restructure everything. Carpets were ripped out. Floors were redone. Lights were reinstalled.
The Italian restaurant looks brand spankin’ new but many other venues in the Financial District stay closed months after the hurricane.
