Granta, the British literary magazine, returns to New York for the launch of its latest issue on a subject that’s ripe for good drama: betrayal. The evening includes a lineup of terrific storytellers. For her contribution to the issue, Karen Russell, a Pulitzer finalist for Swamplandia! who’s about to release her new story collection, Vampires in the Lemon Grove, will be reading a story about “a soldier inscribing the memory of a fellow soldier on his back.” Also on the program are Ben Marcus, author most recently of The Flame Alphabet; Lauren Wilkinson, who is finishing her first novel; and writer Colin Robinson, whose story for the issue is about sibling rivalry. Editor John Freeman and associate editor Patrick Ryan host.
