Wish you’d grown up in the 1800s? Or maybe medieval times? Or both? Enter designer David Quinn’s surreal dreamscape Icons and Relics, a unique performance art piece just in time for Fashion Week (which officially starts February 7). Showing off his fall/winter collection, Quinn transports you to an Edwardian parlor, where you’ll be entertained by a group of lusty models, dancers, and burlesque performers. Knights’ armor, Byzantine icons, and the “gender ambiguities of the La Garçonne style of the 1920s” are all inspirations to the work, which promises to be a night of fashion and downtown theatrics you certainly won’t find on the runway at Lincoln Center.
