YOU RANG?

by

If you’re like us, Wednesdays have been absolutely unbearable lately because that means Sunday night with the Crawley family is still so far away. To alleviate your withdrawal, Selected Shorts: A Night at the Abbey promises a program of upstairs-downtairs fun with readings from classic stories that mirror the drama at Downton Abbey. The tremendous Jayne Houdyshell (Follies, Bye Bye Birdie) will be on hand to give dramatic readings from Edith Wharton’s The Buccaneers, which concerns a wealthy American woman who marries into English royalty; a kitchen maid’s memoir about her experiences in an English country estate; and a P.G. Wodehouse comedic tale about the antics of the aristocrat Wooster and his valet Jeeves, among others. More special guests to be announced.
