Ask anyone who knows Broadway—and even off- and off-off-Broadway—cast lists whether there’s a performer more versatile or reliable or just plain excellent, and the answer is going to come back a hearty “No.” Certainly Michael John LaChiusa, he who gleefully writes tunes for her, won’t hold back, and tonight she’s teamed with one of the most versatile, reliable and just plain excellent orchestrators working the Great White Way. Whatever they concoct is bound to sizzle.
