The Hester Street Fair Returns; Sweet Chick Launches Brunch

The Hester Street Fair will return on April 27 for its fourth season on the Lower East Side. About a third of the market will be dedicated to food vendors. Recent food-fair staples like Luke’s Lobster and Little Muenster will make appearances, and newbies Chinese Mirch and Khao Man Gai will offer, respectively, Chinese-Indian fusion and Thai street food. Williamsburg newcomer Sweet Chick will begin serving brunch on Sunday, April 20. Diners can count on signature chicken and waffles, pork hash with poached eggs, cheddar-laced shrimp and grits, and a black-bean cake and scramble. Homemade pastries like banana bread and sticky buns are also up for grabs. Wash it all down with, yes, a bacon Bloody Mary. 164 Bedford Avenue; 347-725-4793

The Asian mega-restaurant from EMM Group, the General, will also start serving brunch this weekend. Service starts on Saturday and includes Asian-inspired dishes like eggs Benedict with king crab and kabayaki hollandaise. 199 Bowery; 212-271-7101
