At the opening night of Douglas Carter Beane’s The Nance–with Nathan Lane as a gay Republican who does swishy stage acts in 1937–Jesse Tyler Ferguson of Modern Family fame happened to sit next to me. (Lucky him.)
So I nanced him up for this week’s column. You’ll see what Jesse had to say about the term “the nance” and it’s contempo relevance for various Marys and gurls.
I also managed to chat up Beane himself, plus other wits like Cynthia Nixon and Paul Rudnick.
And at another opening, I dished with The New Normal‘s Andrew Rannells, who me told me whether he’ll be back on Girls and also divulged what he’d be willing to do to please Lena Dunham.
What’s more, Lisa Lampanelli was there and told me what Donald Trump thought of a particular column I wrote. He had a very extreme reaction.
