Over the last couple weeks we’ve rolled out all the acts playing this year’s 4Knots Music Festival, our annual FREE outdoor concert taking place down at South Street Seaport’s Pier 17 on June 29 from 1 – 8pm. And what a lineup it is: Kurt Vile, the Men, Parquet Courts, Marnie Stern, Reigning Sound, White Lung, the Babies, Heliotropes, and Fat Tony. The problem with a lineup this good is it’s hard to top. But top it we did after searching long and hard for the perfect, special cherry. A Based Cherry. SWAG.
Seeeeee? We’ll pause a moment while you pick your brain up off the floor. Yes. Following all the fun in the sun downtown, Lil B is playing The Village Voice Official 4Knots Music Festival After Party at Music Hall of Williamsburg. Doors open at 8. Tickets are $20 and go on sale tomorrow. BUT, we’re offering a special SWAG presale for the most serious devotees of THE BASEDGOD starting at noon today (link goes live at noon)(WOOP)(SWAG). Be sure to use the code SOTC at checkout. The presale will go from noon to 11pm today. And if you’re not yet a member of Lil B’s growing flock, trot on over to this handy guide we drew up to explain his complicated and beautiful BasedWorld. See you on the 29th. Be BASED.
* Special Guests are being chosen by Lil B himself and may or may not include Bill Bellamy, Ellen DeGeneres, Dr. Phil, A Bowl of Wonton Soup, and NYU professors hoping to score advice on how to boost attendance in their classrooms.
Martin Luther King told of his growing nightmares and his enduring dreams in the rolling, hypnotic cadences of the rural preacher. But it was the humane, incorruptible mystique of the man that won the crowd, his crescendo phrases winning affirmations of “amen” and “Say it, brother” again and again.
