Jonathan Morr’s seven-year-old burger joint Stand closed last week in Greenwich Village. Grub Street reported that its website went kaput (“Stand4 is closed Thank you for your business”) and that many of its innards were auctioned off on Monday.
Robert Sietsema gave the burgers a B+ back in 2007 and deemed the mixed-vegetable pickles to be “excellent.” Stand also received the Voice‘s coveted “Michelin Rubber Man’s Last Meal” award in the same year, because of its toasted-marshmallow milkshake. But Fork in the Road preferred the black-and-white milkshake.
