Last year, organizers of Bonnaroo and Outside Lands had a grand idea: produce a festival in our favorite borough (Brooklyn) that combines people’s love of great music and delicious food. The result was the Great GoogaMooga, a fun event—except for the long lines and food shortages that resulted in unhappy people and ticket refunds for VIP pass-holders. But this year, the GoogaMooga folks say they’ve learned from their mistakes and promise a much smoother event. The three-day fest will feature food from 85 New York restaurants and vendors (including Big Gay Ice Cream, Calexico, Char No. 4, and Mile End), 75 brews, 100 wines, and 20 live acts, including Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the Flaming Lips, Matt & Kim, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, The Darkness, Jovanotti, Father John Misty, and De La Soul. Phew! Good thing you’ll have all weekend to digest.
