Who could forget those golden days at sleepaway camp? Swimming in the lake, macramé crafting, gay marriage ceremonies, rogue pieces of Skylab threatening to fall to Earth and obliterate everyone at the end-of-the-year talent show. Wet Hot American Summer, David Wain and Michael Showalter’s 2001 homage to the summer-camp flicks of the ’80s, has all this and more. Offering up plenty of horny counselors, mess-hall mischief, and actors who look way too old to be in high school, the cult-circulated comedy brings together a stellar cast that includes Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd, Bradley Cooper, Michael Ian Black, Janeane Garofalo, and Elizabeth Banks. See it tonight at the launch of the Summer Cinema Series, free screenings of cult classics along with a themed bar menu.
