Pool party at King & Grove Williamsburg hotel, Saturday, noon to 7 p.m.
Did we mention it’s going to be hot this weekend? Like almost 90 degrees? If you’re already a little sweaty just thinking about that, you might consider nabbing a day pass for the pool at the King & Grove Williamsburg, which will launch its newly made over cocktail- and food-slinging rooftop, Upper Elm, with a party on Saturday. The fun lasts from noon until 7 p.m., when Vacationer will play a DJ set. $45 gets you entrance, and you’ll be able to purchase snacks and drinks.
Tour de France’s second annual Bouillabaisse Week, May 31 – June 7
Meanwhile, the Tour de France restaurant group — which includes Pigalle, Le Monde, French Roast Uptown, French Roast Downtown, Nice Matin, Marseille, Cafe d’Alsace, L’Express and Maison — will celebrate the onset of summer by hosting its second annual Bouillabaisse Week, showcasing a variety of versions of the classic seafood soup. Purists should head to Marseille, which will offer a Marseillaise take on the dish; locavores should check out Pigalle, which is listing a Montauk-inflected rendition. People who think summer is for grilling instead of soup can go eat the bouillabaisse burger at French Roast Uptown. The week kicks off today and runs through next Friday.
Txikito’s Txikifest, Sunday, 1-4 p.m.
Resident Fork wine columnist Lauren Mowery talked Spanish wine with Txikito’s Alex Raij yesterday, and the chef divulged she’ll be offering one of her favorite food and wine combos — txistorra (a cured Basque sausage) and Txakoli wine — at this mini street-fest in the alley behind Txikito. Additional participating restaurants include La Newyorkina, Hurricane Club, Kuma Inn and Uni Nom, Co. and Sullivan Street Bakery, La Palapa and Bar Mateo. Tickets are $50, and proceeds support Sanctuary for Families.
