Living

IN A FOG

by

Fog is like the goth kid of weather conditions: It’s always rolling in, bringing the morbidity. Storytellers like Bram Stoker and Thomas Mann captured it in London and Venice, and now filmmaker Sam Green is here to explore its American haunt, San Francisco. The Academy Award–nominated “live documentarian” will perform his new piece, Love Letter to the Fog, meditating on the sublime nature of the aforementioned climate-scape. Keeping with his signature style as well as the evening’s focus on atmosphere, Green will narrate the feature in person with a live score by The Quavers (and Brendan Canty from Fugazi). He will also premiere The Biggest-Smallest, a poetic send-up to world-record–holders of all kinds. See what sounds like the most gorgeously cinematic TED Talk on the pier as part of the Rooftop Films series—weather permitting.
