Named after the legendary Chicago improv coach and teacher to mega-watt comedians like Bill Murray and Tina Fey, the Del Close Marathon once again celebrates the art of improvisation with its 56-hour nonstop comedy marathon. With more than 400 comedy shows—ranging from established improv groups like the Upright Citizens Brigade (Amy Poehler is scheduled to perform in ASSSSCAT 3000 on Sunday night) to wacky amateur performances—any comedy fan can find something to laugh at during the jam-packed weekend. Other highlights include an improv set by the writers of 30 Rock, Apples and Oranges (with Delocated’s Jon Glaser and Matt Walsh), and the Chicago–based group Revolver (with Saturday Night Live’s Vanessa Bayer).

Fridays-Sundays, 4 p.m. Starts: June 28. Continues through June 30, 2013
