The synthesizer has come a long way since Gary Numan pumped out his 1979 hit “Cars.” At today’s Control Voltage Block Party, check out what’s new from 13 synthesizer exhibitors (including Knas, Snazzy FX, and Tip Top Audio) who are cranking up their creations on the streets of the Seaport. Not your average music fair, this River to River Festival event allows partygoers to get in on the action and play their own synth sounds. In the evening, hear music from the pros, including Atlanta-based musician and sound designer Richard Devine, electronic musician Keith Fullerton Whitman, and interdisciplinary artist and performer Lori Napoleon. Fair begins at 3, musical performances at 8, at the Cannon’s Walk.
