Morgan’s, a new Texas-style barbecue restaurant, is just a few weeks away from opening at 267 Flatbush Avenue in Prospect Heights, and it sounds like it’ll turn out some pretty serious ‘cue–the spot has enlisted John Avila, who did time at legendary Franklin’s in Austin, to man the pit.
In a beautifully refurbished spot that used to house the Kentile Asphalt Tile Co., this BBQ joint will serve lunch and dinner–and a side of mac and cheese. Co-owner Joel Bolden is also the CEO of Elbow Room, a macaroni-and-cheese restaurant with one location in Newark and another down the street at the Barclays Center; he’ll sell various macs from a take-out window next door.
