Detroit may be bankrupt, but hometown house hero Dez Andrés isn’t one to wallow in the negative. His three self-titled albums flit between dusty funk and lush deep house, embracing emotion without devolving into sappiness. The best example is 2012’s “New For U,” which is as much of a “hit” as underground dance music gets these days and still makes crowds swoon at the first sound of the swooping strings.
