Sports fans looking to get their game on in the Lower East Side have a new place to call home. Red Heels, an upscale sports lounge offering beers and bottle service, is now open for business–and just in time for the start of the NFL season.
Featuring a mix of flat screens, top-shelf drinks, and–you probably saw this one coming–waitresses wearing red heels, the new concept continues the Lower East Side’s renovation south of Delancey. Located next door to casual seafood joint The Boil, the second-floor lounge offers diners a place to grab a post-dinner cocktail. And while most sports bars tout bar stools as the best seats in the house, the most notable view here is the wall-to-wall window looking out across the city and the view of Chrystie Street below.
That view, seductively named drinks like El Macho, and an omnipresent red glow may make you think this is a place you can actually pull off the hot date/game combo, but really, you don’t want to get caught peeking at the TV when you’re deep in conversation.
Do expect good drinks, though: Esteban Ordoñez, creator of cocktails for such bars as Apotheke, oversaw the development of the beverage list. A food menu is currently being finalized and is scheduled to debut in the upcoming weeks.
The sports lounge is currently open Tuesday through Saturday and will be open on Sundays beginning with the first regular season NFL game on September 8.
