For all the hoo-ha about how scary and threatening Scandinavian black metal is, few bands actually cover themselves in animal blood and worship Satan, and even fewer make it to the States to tour. One of the lucky ones—if you want to call them that—is Watain, a Swedish group who have boasted about making audiences vomit from the smell of their own putrid, blood-soaked clothes. So tonight will be a sort of litmus test for just how much Irving Plaza can take, when the band stops through to promote their latest album, The Wild Hunt. With In Solitude and Tribulation.
