Four-time winners of the Fringe First Award in Edinburgh, Scotland, The TEAM is known for challenging, fiercely intelligent works that examine the heart of America, from an exploration of post-Katrina New Orleans starring Scarlett O’Hara to a musical about capitalism. This time, they come to the Bushwick Starr with RoosevElvis (pronounced “Rose-of-Elvis”), a story of Ann, a female slaughterhouse worker in South Dakota who awakes one morning to the feeling that she has no gender. As she and her lover set off for Graceland, two of America’s most legendary men, Elvis and Theodore Roosevelt, battle over Ann’s confused soul. Rachel Chavkin directs the surreal adventure.
