Just as Tamar Braxton’s Love and War was one of 2013’s best r&b releases, big sister Toni’s Love, Marriage & Divorce, an album of duets featuring producer Babyface, started 2014 strong, offering 11 tracks that are as sonically soft as they are emotionally gripping. For the next two weeks, the two perform as guest soloists on Broadway’s After Midnight, a show that pays tribute to Harlem’s old Cotton Club and puts the music — on most nights, tunes for Duke Ellington and Harold Arlen — center stage. If all goes well, they’ll be touring together before the start of 2015, but if that doesn’t pan out, this might be your only chance to catch them live.
Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Wednesdays, Saturdays, 2 p.m.; Sundays, 3 p.m.; Tuesdays-Thursdays, 7:30 p.m. Starts: Oct. 18. Continues through June 29, 2013
