Up until this year, Lucy Ann Wheeless only took appointments, fitting friends and clients with her handpicked vintage finds. So we’re glad that now, following an epic thrifting road trip through the American South, the Marc Jacobs alum has opened the doors to her cozy Bushwick fashion bodega. Collections feels breezy and relaxed—easy chairs and seashells abound—and is very much reminiscent of Wheeless’s native North Carolina. While the collection in question is compact, each item is a find, from a coveted pair of Miu Miu pumps to Marni–inspired tunics and straw beach hats with impressive circumferences. The gems have been picked out and paired accordingly, so no hunting here. Factoring in the not-to-be-undervalued service of a designer’s discerning hand, the prices are a bargain, with most items comfortably in the $25 to $55 range, more for the high-end labels. Mimosa brunches and sale parties make this already pleasant, nonjudgmental boutique a neighborhood favorite.
