Announcing Our Distillery Lineup for our Inaugural Holiday Spirits Event


If you didn’t catch Eve Turow’s video interview with Jack from Brooklyn’s Jackie Summers last week, now’s a good time to go get caught up. And if you like what you see there — and you’d like to meet the maker and sample his wares — you might consider buying tickets for our inaugural Holiday Spirits tasting event, where Summers will pour his unique Sorel alongside a number of other New York State craft distillers.

Who, you wonder?

Yonkers-based Nahmia et Fils Distiller will bring its Mahia fig brandy, Atsby Vermouth will pour Atsby Armadillo Cake Vermouth — made with North Fork chardonnay — and Owney’s Rum will serve hot buttered rum to the crowds.

The current lineup of distilleries includes Atsby Vermouth, Barefoot Wine & Bubbly, Barrow’s Intense Ginger Liqueur, Breuckelen Distilling, Brooklyn Gin, Catskill Distilling Company, Cooperstown Distillery, Death’s Door Spirits, Dutch’s Spirits, El Buho Mezcal, Greenhook Ginsmiths, Jack from Brooklyn, Long Island Spirits, Nahmias et Fils Distillery, Owney’s Rum, Tirado Distillery, and Tuthilltown Spirits–and we’ll be announcing more soon.

The party happens December 5 (the 80th anniversary of Prohibition, appropriately) at Long Island City’s Studio Square (35-44 37th Street, Long Island City, 718-383-1001) and runs from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Secure your $50 general admission ticket — which includes unlimited sampling, complimentary appetizers, and live music — on the event’s website, or spring for a $70 VIP ticket for access to the fete an hour early plus a takeaway commemorative tote.
