Bring your inner Cookie Monster out to play at Matt Timms’s sixth annual Brooklyn Cookie Takedown. The two-day competition led to some interesting creations last year, like third-place-winner Katie Clark’s “Fluffer Nutjob” cookie, but it was Susan Palmer who took home the top prize with her French macarons done three ways. Just don’t expect to snack on the average chocolate chip cookie: Timms encourages the use of oddball ingredients, so as long as that cilantro lemon drop cookie was baked in an oven, it’s a contender in the takedown.
