Watch Bill de Blasio’s Inauguration Live Without Having to Leave Your Bed

Good morning! Sorry. Are we shouting? Good morning. It’s New Year’s Day, and we imagine you probably need a burger and some Gatorade more than you need to trek down to City Hall and try frantically to score a scalped ticket to Bill de Blasio’s sold-out mayoral inauguration.

Luckily, will be livestreaming the whole thing. And if that’s still too much trouble, we’ll embed the livestream after the jump. It was supposed to go live on the city’s website by 10:30, but eventually appeared nearly an hour later. Guess everyone’s getting a slow start this morning.

This will be de Blasio’s second swearing-in of the day; Attorney General Eric Schneiderman dropped by the new mayor’s Park Slope home at midnight last night to admininster the oath. De Blasio released this photo via Twitter:

Today at noon, Public Advocate Letitia James and Comptroller Scott Stringer will also be sworn in. Then former President Bill Clinton will be administering the oath of office, followed by de Blasio’s first mayoral address. Apparently, Big Bill is also planning on making a few comments first:

Hopefully everyone on the ground brought a warm coat and a supply of rations. That man goes long.

After de Blasio finishes his speech, DJ M.O.S. will be providing the recessional music, as well as a handy metaphor for op-ed writers who need to illustrate just how different de Blasio and Bloomberg really are. On Facebook, M.O.S. posted this photo of himself heading into City Hall, DJ bag strapped to his back, with this caption: “Just got to city hall, second gig of the day excited to be deejaying for the inauguration of Mayor Bill De Blasio. Tune in to NY1 in a few to catch me at work. #newyorkcity #nyc #bigapple #inaug2014.”

Wash down a couple more Advil and check out the livestream:
