In case you’ve missed the memo, Valentine’s Day is on Friday, and that night, every couple in the city will hit the town to dine out. Before cupid descends on the Big Apple, hit a tasty event — whether you’re sharing an experience with a loved one or flying solo.
Mid-Winter Tropic Rum-Ble, Louro, 142 West 10th Street, Monday, 7 p.m.
Chase the cold away — at least for a few hours — by pretending like you’re someplace warm. David Santos’ Nossa Mesa Supper Club returns, this time with a tropical theme, and for $65, you can enjoy rum-based drinks and food all night long (think red okra and jerk chicken and red snapper crudo).
Brisket King, The Firehouse, 87 Lafayette Street, Wednesday, 6 p.m.
The city’s best pitmasters go head to head in this brisket throwdown, which will feature a long line-up of restaurants like Dinosaur BBQ, Kutshers, and Morgans. Taste your way through as much ‘cue as you can eat and wash it down with plenty of booze; tickets are $75.
Winter Ramen Party, Reynard, 80 Wythe Avenue, Tuesday and Wednesday, 6 p.m.
Stave off the cold with a little west coast ramen: Oakland’s Ramen Shop hits Brooklyn for a two-night residency, during which guests can get their fill of noodles, DJ music, and west coast coffee. Reservations are first come, first serve, and the party is expected to last until midnight both nights.
Pasta Class, Giovani-Rana-Chelsea Market, 75 Ninth Avenue, Thursday, 7 p.m.
Warm up for Valentine’s Day by learning a new skill with a date. For $95, couples can learn to make chili pappardelle and chocolate ravioli. Eat the fruits of your labor while you enjoy complimentary wine or beer and a free dessert. Reservations can be made by calling the restaurant.
