Well hey, we’re very excited about this. On Friday, March 14, at 10 p.m., Village Voice advice columnist/Life Guru Andrew W.K. and Wu Tang Clan’s Masta Killa will join me and comedian Tom Cowell on stage to tell their funniest, weirdest, most-depraved stories from the road in a thing we’re (very creatively) calling Road Stories. And the whole thing is FREE!
It’s all going down at one of the best bars in Long Island City, The Creek and the Cave, which has rightly earned its nickname “the CBGB’s of comedy.” On any given night, many of the city’s best comedians can be found in one of the Creek’s two performance spaces. Some of those comedians, who we’ll name in the coming days, will also be on hand to tell their own Road Stories. So mark your calendar. And if you can’t make it, don’t worry. We’ll be recording the whole thing and posting the audio on the blog the week following the show. (But you really should come.)
Peep the poster artist Kalen Hollomon made for us below. Hollomon’s Instagram account is a national treasure, and right now he’s very busy taking over Vogue magazine’s Instagram account for Paris Fashion Week, so BIG THANK YOU to him for carving out the time. See you on the 14th!
